Xitel SOUNDaround Home Theater Sound Enhancement
Category:
Sub $20 Home Audio and Home Theater equipment.
Purchase:
Can be purchased from many online retailers for $20 or less. The packaging includes an owners manual, remote control, an RCA video extension cable, two AAA batteries, a power adapter, and an RCA stereo audio cable.
Description:
The unit itself is relatively small, about the same size as the new digital TV tuners. It is easy to use, there are three modes and a 'clarity' option when in SRS TruSurround XT mode. There are three size options for speakers on a switch in the back of the unit, small for headphones and most televisions, medium for bookshelf speakers and quality console televisions, and large for well, large speakers. The SRS TruBass volume, mode, and clarity can be changed with the included remote.
Pros:
Noticable difference in sound quality for smaller speakers.Adds a headphone jack to your home theater system.
Inexpensive but well constructed and includes a remote.
Makes movie dialoge much easier to hear with the 'clarity' option.
Great instructions for any home theater setup or just a TV and game console.
Cons:
Don't loose the remote, ever! It is the only way to change modes and options.
Final Verdict:
Definitely worth the $$!This device does what it claims and does it well. The dialogue on the test movie was unmistakably clearer, and the sound effects really were just like the theater with the exception of the bone rattling lows for explosions.
The SRS TruBASS made lows clearer, not muddied like traditional bass boosting systems and sounded great with my bookshelf test speakers.
This device would make a great gift or addition to any movie enthusiasts home theater system and adds a convenient headphone jack for non intrusive listening.
